Keep your greeting cards!

In this day of electronic everything, receiving a hand written card is special.  These
cards (greeting cards, note cards, thank you cards) are little pieces of love and
friendship.  Don't throw them out.
Treasure these pieces of love.  Here are the many things you can easily do with the
cards loved ones send to you in order to keep them in your life for a long time:

Bookmarks!
Put one in each of your books and you will
find a little bit of love whenever you open a book!

Make a framed memorabilia collage!
People frame diplomas, why not frame the messages from our loved ones.
So, collect all the cards from a special event (wedding, significant birthday) and place
them artfully in a frame.

Mouse pad!
Liven up your desk with a card in your mouse pad.  Buy mouse
pads you can put stuff in at any local office supply store.  Remember to include the
message inside: the picture on the front is pretty but inside is the love.

Decorate!
Remember your first apartment before you could afford 'art'?
Greeting cards make great decoration: hang them across a string and you have
instant festivity.

Refrigerator magnets!
Paste your favorite parts of the card onto sheet magnet (available at places like Home Depot
or Office supply stores and easy to cut).  Again, remember to choose those precious
messages your family and friends wrote on the inside of the card.  What a wonderful
thing to find on your refrigerator: a note in Mom's handwriting telling
you how much she loves you!

Small art!
Many greeting cards look beautiful framed.  Find a special frame
and you have a lovely wall piece or gift for a friend.

Scrapbooking!
Cards are perfect for adding to scrapbooks, either as memorabilia or
just for the addition of artful or comical tidbits.

Christmas Tree decorations!
Cut the card into pieces and punch a hole in one corner and you have a great Christmas tree
decoration.  Add a ribbon or dip the edges in glue and then glitter.  An entire tree of cards
would be delightful.

Coasters!
No coaster around?- grab a piece of paper or an envelope.
We do it all the time.  Well, laminate your favorite greeting cards into  4 X 4 squares
and you have a set of great coasters.

Confetti
Cut cards into small pieces and decorate a party table with them.

Decoupage a memorabilia box!
Use all your favorite meaningful cards you have received to decoupage a box,
or a table top, or a gift for someone special.

Recipe cards!
Cut the front of the card into a 3 X 5 and use it to write your recipe on the back.
Then every time you cook you find a piece of friendship there.
